Serbian Communication Scientist, Ljubiša Bojić, Appointed to the United Nations Environment Programme’s (UNEP) Foresight Expert Panel

Ljubiša Bojić, a Serbian communication scientist and futurologist, has been appointed to the Foresight Expert Panel by Andrea Hinwood, Chief Scientist of the United Nations Environment Programme.
Bojić will join a panel of 19 distinguished scientists and experts from around the world. The Expert Panel will undertake significant work in preparation for the sixth United Nations Environment Assembly in February 2024 and the Summit of the Future in September 2024. Their collective insights will form a Global Report in collaboration with the International Scientific Council to inform the debates at both key events.
Bojić’s work will focus on the potential outcomes of the development and deployment of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). His knowledge and expertise will aim to propose concrete global regulations related to AGI.
Renowned for his research work in the spheres of new technologies and society, Bojić is the author of over 50 scientific papers, including “The Metaverse through the Prism of Power and Addiction: What Will Happen When the Virtual World Becomes More Attractive than Reality?” and “Cultural Organism or Techno-Feudalism: How Increasing Addictions and Artificial Intelligence Shape Modern Society”. Also, Bojić is a senior research associate and coordinator of the Digital Society Lab at the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory of the University of Belgrade and the Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia.
Recently, Bojić contributed to the development of ethical standards for artificial intelligence in the Republic of Serbia as a member of the Government’s working group. He is also the founder of EMERGE: Forum on the Future of AI-Driven Humanity and the initiator of the Belgrade Digital Freedom Pledge, which aims to stimulate discussions on public good and human rights aspects of recommendation systems and digital identity.

Srpski komunikolog, Ljubiša Bojić, imenovan za člana ekspertskog panela za predviđanje budućnosti Programa Ujedinjenih nacija za životnu sredinu (UNEP)

Ljubiša Bojić, srpski komunikolog i futurolog, imenovan je za člana ekspertskog panela za predviđanje budućnost od strane glavnog naučnika Programa Ujedinjenih nacija za životnu sredinu, Andrea Hinwood.
Bojić će se pridružiti panelu od još 19 cenjenih naučnika i stručnjaka iz celog sveta. Ekspertski panel će preduzeti značajan rad pred šestu Skupštinu Ujedinjenih nacija o zaštiti životne sredine u februaru 2024. i Samitu o budućnosti u septembru 2024. godine. Njihovi kolektivni uvidi će oblikovati Globalni Izveštaj u saradnji sa Međunarodnim naučnim savetom da bi se informisale debate na oba ključna događaja.
Bojićev rad biće fokusiran na potencijalne rezultate razvoja i primene opšte veštačke inteligencije (AGI). Njegovo znanje i ekspertiza fokusiraće se na predlaganje konkretnih globalnih regulativa vezanih za AGI.
Poznat po svom istraživačkom radu u sferama novih tehnologija i društva, Bojić je autor preko 50 naučnih radova, uključujući “Metaverse kroz prizmu moći i zavisnosti: Šta će se dogoditi kada virtualni svet postane privlačniji od realnosti?” i “Kulturni Organizam ili Techno-feudalizam: kako rastuće zavisnosti i veštačka inteligencija oblikuju savremeno društvo”. Pored toga, Bojić je viši naučni saradnik i koordinator Laboratorije za digitalno društvo na Institutu za filozofiju i društvenu teoriju Univerziteta u Beogradu i Institutu za veštačku inteligenciju Srbije.
Nedavno, Bojić je doprineo izradi etičkih standarda za veštačku inteligenciju u Republici Srbiji kao član radne grupe Vlade. Takođe je osnivač EMERGE: Foruma o budućnosti čovečanstva vođenim veštačkom inteligencijom i pokretač inicijative Beogradska povelja o digitalnoj slobodi, koja ima za cilj da podstakne razgovore o sistemima za preporuke kao javnom dobru i digitalnom identitetu kao ljudskom pravu.
